Our History

FOUNDATION OF BÜMED

The Boğaziçi University Alumni Association (BÜMED), with its approximately 20,000 members, is one of the strongest and most deep-rooted communities of Boğaziçi University. BÜMED aims to keep its alumni in a continuous and dynamic bond not only with each other but also with their university. Transforming the solidarity created by this bond into a permanent, sustainable, and institutional structure constitutes the fundamental approach of BÜMED.

Beyond being an alumni network, BÜMED positions itself as a stakeholder that strengthens the esteemed position of Boğaziçi University in national and international arenas. Accordingly, organizing the responsibilities to be undertaken by the alumni, developing collaborations around common goals, and implementing projects that will add value to the future of the university are among the primary working areas of the association.

BÜMED adopts academic success, social contribution, and creating a global impact as its core values. By bringing together the knowledge and experience of its alumni with the contemporary and universal vision of Boğaziçi University, it aims to create a long-term, qualified, and sustainable sphere of influence.




FOUNDATION OF BÜMED MEÇ SCHOOLS

The Boğaziçi University Alumni Association (BÜMED) and esteemed academicians who are members of the association founded BÜMED Merak Eden Çocuk (MEÇ) Schools in 2011 to implement an educational approach based on curiosity and inquiry, centering on the skills required by the 21st century.

BÜMED MEÇ Schools makes a difference with its unique educational approach that transforms its students' sense of curiosity into learning, learning into discovery, and discovery into success. This model, which makes every child's potential visible, addresses creativity, research culture, and universal values with a holistic approach alongside academic development.
