Clinical Psychologist Dr. Serap Altekin completed her undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at Boğaziçi University; she has been conducting studies in the field of psychoeducation and psychotherapy with youth and adults for many years. In addition to her clinical work, she has served as a lecturer at various universities; she has taken part in many academic and applied studies supporting the emotional, social, and psychological development of children, youth, and adults.
Dr. Altekin is known for her work with schools, families, and educators on trauma, psychological well-being and resilience, child safety, gender equality, inclusion, and healthy communication. In her work with both children and adults, she adopts age-appropriate, play- and experience-based approaches that support the strengthening of emotion regulation skills, the establishment of safe relationships, and their ability to express themselves healthily.
In the studies carried out within BÜMED MEÇ Schools, Dr. Serap Altekin aims to support the well-being of students, families, and teachers, to approach families and teachers in cooperation and solidarity as a natural part of the process, and to contribute to the strengthening of a safe, inclusive, and supportive psychological climate in the school environment.
