After completing his undergraduate degree in engineering at Boğaziçi University, Engin Ader finished his M.S in mathematics education at the same university and got his PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK. He has been working as a faculty member in mathematics education at Boğaziçi University since 2009 and has been conducting research on areas such as teacher education, problem solving and improvement of students’ thinking skills. Some of his articles and book chapters were published in national and international academic journals.

Engin Ader has been conducting various teacher trainings and workshops for teachers working at different levels. He spent the 2016-2017 academic year on a sabbatical leave at Arizona State University and conducted research together with some prominent mathematics educators. Since 2015, he has been the coordinator of the metacognition and self-regulation working group of the European Association for Research in Learning and Instruction – EARLI.

Consulting Process in BÜMED MEÇ Schools – Dostum Matematik (My Friend Mathematics) Project

Engin Ader started the My Friend Mathematics project as a pilot study with 5 teachers in Arnavutköy campus in the 2014-2015 academic year. In the 2015-2016 academic year, in the light of the first-year experiences, he continued his studies with our classroom teachers in Arnavutköy and Moda campuses within the scope of teacher training and lesson observations. Besides focusing on supporting teachers and forming appropriate teaching strategies in classrooms, many studies, lesson plans and educational materials that can be used in mathematics were included into the project itself.

Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü’nden mezun olduktan sonra, İstanbul Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü’nde yüksek lisans ve doktora eğitimini tamamladı. Çeşitli devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinde öğretim görevlisi olarak çalıştı. 2015 yılında Montclair State University / Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children (IAPC) merkezinde Çocuklar İçin Felsefe eğitimi programını tamamladı. Little Thinkers Society’nin kurucusudur. Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Yaşamboyu Eğitim Merkezi’nde Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitmen Eğitimi Uzmanlık Sertifikası programını yürütmekte, aynı zamanda Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde yarı-zamanlı öğretim görevlisi olarak Eğitim Felsefesi dersi vermektedir. Redhouse Kidz Yayınları’nın Çocuklar İçin Felsefe kitapları serisinin yazarıdır. Eğitmenlik, eğitmen eğitimi, eğitim içeriği hazırlama konularında bilgi ve deneyim sahibidir. 2009 doğumlu Ferhan’ın annesidir.

Prof. Dr. Belma Haznedar Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora çalışmalarını İkidillilik ve Erken Çocukluk Döneminde İkinci Dil Edinimi alanında İngiltere’de Durham Üniversitesi Dilbilim Bölümü’nde tamamlamıştır. Halen Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmakta olan Prof. Dr. Haznedar’ ın araştırmaları, anadil edinimi, eşzamanlı ve ardışık ikidillilik, çocuklara erken yaşta dil öğretimi ve çocuklarda okuma edinimi konularına odaklanmıştır. Uluslararası yayınları önemli sayıda atıf alan Prof. Dr. Belma Haznedar’ın çocukta anadil ve ikinci dil edinimi ile çocuklara yabancı dil eğitimi alanında derlemiş olduğu ‘’Acquisition of Turkish in Childhood’, ‘Current Trends in Child Second Language Acquisition: A Generative Perspective’ ve ‘Handbook for Teaching Foreign Languages to Young Learners in Primary Schools’ başlıklı üç kitabı bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, erken yaşta ikidillilik, çocuklarda dil bozuklukları ve çocuklara dil öğretimi alanında ulusal ve uluslararası projelerde yürütücülük ve proje elemanı olarak görev yapmış ve yurtdışında atıf endekslerinde yer alan dergilerde danışma kurulu üyesi ve hakem olarak yer almaktadır.

Yegan Ozcan

Yegan Özcan, who completed her undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology, has been pursuing her career in psychotherapy and content production/consulting for 17 years. Apart from undergraduate and graduate programs, Dr. Murat Dokur- Family and Couple Therapy Training, Prof. Mehmet Sungur- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training, Fillial Play Therapy Training, Neslihan Zapci- Child Rorschach, CAT and TAT Training, Tevfika İkiz- Adult Rorschach Training, Burçin Alsancak Sönmez- WISC’s Projective Interpretation Training, TPD-Objective Tests Training, Denver training , WISC Trainings and Tamer Ergin-CAS Training can be summarized as long-term trainings that guide her work.

After her internships in hospitals, psychological counseling centers and psychiatrists’ offices during her undergraduate and graduate years, she worked as a school psychologist and administrator in international pre-school institutions during her professional career, as a special educator and family counselor in special education centers with children with MR and Autism, and as a family counselor. She worked as a psychotherapist and later as a project developer and field practitioner in non-governmental organizations-adolescent services. In the following years, she continued guiding in a private counseling center. Özcan continues to carry out her psychotherapy and other studies with her teammates in the counseling center she is the founder of.
